VERONICA AGOSTINI

Veronica Agostini  was born on July 18, 1971, in Italy  into an old, established Roman family with a long history of artists and professionals, most of whom have followed their chosen careers to distant parts of the world.  In 1985, she spent a year sailing the Caribbean with her family.

Although she lived aboard the family's yacht, she was in close daily contact with the inhabitants of remote communities of the Antilles and subtropical regions of Mexico and Venezuela, absorbing the lush, vibrant cultures of the "New World".

In 1986 Veronica began her studies in Graphic Design, Painting and History of Art at one of the most prestigious schools of Fine Arts in Rome, the "Istituto d'Arte Silvio d'Amico."  She was named among the top graduating students of 1991.

Living and studying in Rome, considered the greatest "living museum" in the classical world, Veronica experienced Art as intrinsic to her life as family, culture and history.  During the long vacation periods of her childhood, she traveled extensively throughout the Mediterranean basin following the routes of the ancient Phoenicians from Gibraltar to Greece; and in 1987 the family undertook a three month adventure crossing the Atlantic from Rome to Antigua.

In 1991, Veronica moved to London for several months to learn English and to immerse herself in yet another culture.  She returned to Italy to begin a career in Graphic Design.  Continuing her post-graduate work at the "Accademia del Superfluo", she studied the Art of Faux-Trompe l'Oeil to further develop her technique in mural decoration.

However, her real vocation lay in her love of painting--the fascination with the blank canvas, the palette and the easel that began as a child under the tutelage of her grandfather, the renowned painter, Sergio Agostini.

In 1996 Veronica moved to Los Angeles, California, where she fulfilled commissions for large murals in many Los Angeles homes and businesses, and showed her art in several well known Galleries.

After 13 years spent in the States, in 2008, she decided to move to Dominican Republic, following a childhood dream of when she was 14 years old.

She continues to work and paint at her studio in Sosua, where she lives with her son Daniel.
